Guest guest
Thank you so much for sharing the removing fear mantra. I have needed it, and I love the sound and cadance of the words. I have mostly been reading (Chandi, Gita) and doing japa as I am sick with an illness that has no cure. It affects me every day. I have prayed to be shown the way to experience my illness as tapas, to lay it at the feet of the guru, to experience it as karma yoga. Yet, almost every day I find I still cannot stem the tide of my discouragement, sometimes despair. My life is so limited now. Do any of you have any suggestions about this? Is there a mantra that would help me accept this experience? I have the sense, from reading the posts, that some of you live at Devi Mandir. Oh, how wonderful it must be. I miss seeing Maa and Swami very much, though I understand the task they have set for themselves. Also, to the person who got "Live on Planet Earth," I bought this right after hearing Krishna Das sing at a conference. It is a wonderful group of songs, and many of the Dieties are represented. Thank you again for sharing your experience through these posts ~ Linda
Guest guest
Dear Linda, Here are a mantra from the Chandi that I use to stem despair and discouragement. "Sharanaagata dinaartha Paritrana Paraayane Sarvashyarthi Hare devi Narayani Namostute" Meaning :- For those who are devoted to you and take refuge in you, even though helpless and perplexed, you save them from all discomfort and unhappiness. All worry you take away, Oh Goddess, Exposer of Consciousness, we bow to you. Here is a mantra from the Chandi I use to improve my health . "Rogaanaseshanapahamshi tushta Rushtaa tu kaamaan sakalaanabhishtaan. Tvaamaashritaanaam na vipannaraanaam Tvaamaashritaa Hyaasrayataam prayaanti" Meaning :- When you are pleased you destroy all infirmities, and when you are displeased you frustrate all desires. No calamity or disease befalls those who take refuge in you, and those who take refuge in you invariably become a refuge to others". Here is a mantra from the Chandi I use for general well being and prosperity. "Vidhehi devi kalyaanam Vidhehi paramaam shriyam Rupam dehi Jayam Dehi yasho dehi dviso jahi" Meaning :- Oh Goddess, grant welfare, grant supreme prosperity. Give us your form, give us victory , give us welfare, remove all hostility". Jai Maa !!!! Latha , nierika@a... wrote: > Dear Latha, > > Thank you so much for sharing the removing fear mantra. Guest guest
Dear Linda, There is a beautiful and powerful healing mantra, the mahamrtyunjaya mantra. Shree Maa has recorded it on a CD, which you can order from the website, and certainly you can recite it yourself. It is transliterated as: OM. TRYAMBAKAM YAJAAMAHE SUGANDHIM PUSHTI VARDDHANAM URVVAARUKA MIVA BANDHANAAN MRTYORM MUKSHIIYAM AAMRTAAT Swamiji translates this as: We adore the Father of the three worlds, of excellent fame, Grantor of Increase. As a cucumber is released from its bondage to the stem, so may we be freed from Death to dwell in immortality. Some people I know play it continuously on their CD player in their home. You can also chant along with the CD, which is very beautiful. And, I am the one who just bought "Live on Earth," and have been playing it today; I have heard many of K.D.'s bhajans on this previously, but I have never heard him sing the Hanuman chalisa before, for some reason. It's great! (thanks, Astraea) God bless you. In turning to God with faith, I know you'll find what you need. Guest guest
Namaste Linda, If I may, I would like to suggest the Mrtyunjaya Mantra. Tryambakam yajamahe Sugandim pushtivardanam..... It's both a healing (body and soul) as well as a detachment mantra. It has definitely helped me over the years. Jai Maa, Gauri P.S. I am just catching up on all the posts so if somebody else has already suggested it, I second that. , nierika@a... wrote: > Dear Latha, > > Thank you so much for sharing the removing fear mantra.
