Latha,

 

As I understand it, mudras represent/produce states of consciousness

or channel flows of energy. The most accessable way to understand it

might be the example of a smile. A smile both represents an inner

condition that is already there, and tends to produce that condition.

I never thought a smile was a mudra but you are so right!

My boyfriend does mudra all the time and his hands are so flexable from

doing it all these years. From what I know they do open energy channels

but I think the best way to use them is to hold the mudra for a period

of time, but I'm not sure.

My boyfriend's second book is on tantric technicalities with puja. His friend

and him are both artists and so they've been drawing pictures of

mudra's for several years now getting ready for the book to be

published. It should be out in about a year.

I'm no expert at puja or mudra. Puja is not really my sadhana in a formal puja
