Guest guest
Namaste All, My special thanks to Kamala and Brian for providing valuable input. Here is how it went :- The response to the puja was lukewarm . To be expected as I was striving to appear cool, business-like, in-an-official-meeting kinda demeanour, ......so how could the recipient's bhava be any different? She too was polite, gracious , accomodating (put the flowers at the appropriate time) and commented that everything was "interesting"( barely stifling a yawn). And no , she prefers to get up and say "God be with me throughout the day in whatever I do" as "I was never much into Puja and sanskrit" and "I certainly cannot chant like you and dont wanna chant like you ". So you would think that it was a wash out ! NOT !!!!! It has helped ME enormously. When you take up something that you dont feel qualified for, but you do it anyway for a higher good - SOMETHING HAPPENS ! I did the best I could under the circumstances, but the fact that I was willing to put myself out there made the difference. When you give of yourself, selflessly , something wonderful is given back multifold. You just hafta take a chance ! Maa, you are right, when I try to reach out to do puja for another selflessly , it could very well be the first step to opening my heart. Swamiji, you are right, the puja is as much for the recipient as it is for the doer. Both are blessed. Love Latha

Guest guest
More often than not it seems that the most benefit of a puja goes to the pujari. Those doing the praying are generally willing to give up someting of themselves in the process of prayer. Those we may be praying for might be too set in their ways and scarcely receptive to benefit. Some things take time. What takes place rapidly within ourselves might take longer within those around us. I've heard it said that if we change ourselves, we change everything. I am not sure about that, but if we have changed something within ourselves at least we have changed something. I am begning to feel a strong urge to merge with the big round elephant. Often I really get sick of myself, but not the devas and devies. Puja is good medicine. I need to increase my dose imminitely. , Ardis Jackson <anandamama@e...> wrote: > How lovely to hear of the blessing you received as well as the blessing you > offered.
