Guest guest
I just want to let people know how I feel about this book after chanting it a few times. There is something about this particular Sahasranam that has drawn me into it more than any other Sahasranam, and it seems to have a particular power in it that I haven't been able to feel in other chants. I don't know if it has something to do with it being in alphabetical order or perhaps I'm just more naturally open to the energy that Gayatri creates. When we chanted it as a group for the first time the other night with Maa and Swamiji, I felt extremely aware of how these Mantras when chanted with pranayam in an asana, could fully invoke the presence of the Devi. This is the power of Sanskrit Mantras that come to this world through the intuition of a Rishi. Swamiji must have known that there was a great power in this Sahasranam when he decided to translate it for us.
Guest guest
Hi Sarada, Glad you felt the same way too. I liked the stotram , but think the namavali (with a single name ) is good for starters that find it difficult to break the sandhi in the sanskrit . Best wishes, Latha , "Sarada" <sarada_saraswati> wrote: > I just want to let people know how I feel about this book after > chanting it a few times. Guest guest
Jai Gayatri Maa! I thought it would be worth sharing the beautiful description of the Goddess Gayatri given in Swamiji's latest book, "Gayatri Sahasranama." Contained in the 1000 names of the Goddess in verse 9 is a dhaynam, or meditation on the Goddess. Here's the translation: "Red, white gold and blue, and extremely bright or beautiful dazzling white, are her colors, Her three eyes are shining brightly on each face. Her body is of red hue, She wears a garland of red lotuses, She is seated on a red lotus seat. Her hands hold a lotus, a water pot, the mudra granting boons, and a rosary. I worship the Ever Pure One with lotus eyes who is seated on a swan." , "Sarada" <sarada_saraswati> wrote: > I just want to let people know how I feel about this book after > chanting it a few times.
