Guest guest
Food is a very basic part of life and everything we put into our body helps create our overall vibration. My question is, what foods have you found to be most conducive for sadhana?
Guest guest
No Onions, no Garlic, no dairy, little sugar and an occasional pastrami sandwich from Katz's Deli on Houston St in NYC. Guest guest
Rice, dahl, and vegetables (fresh), all well spiced to increase the digestive fire. Guest guest
Dear Sarada, Well, to really take this question completely seriously, I would need to dig into a few levels, to begin with. I have fasted and found that "feasting on Brahman" can be the most filling, truly of any food, when I am doing sadhana during that time of fasting. If I pay attention to any hunger pangs that may come, then I feel very unfulfilled. But in paying no attention, not only don't I feel hunger, I really do experience great satisfaction! And meditation is smooth and deep, my body is lighter, my focus & purpose is God. On another level, if I am eating food food, sattvic food is always the best; I remember Shakambhari (She Who Nourished Vegetables) at that time, and it always tastes good that way too---also,appreciation of Her (and those beautiful cooks She cooks through!) also makes my sadhana more purposeful and clear--I love Her even more. Guest guest
Clean, pure, sattvic foods. Fruits, nuts, milk products like Yogurt, (unless you have allergies) (hot milk only works for me in India since the cows are a different species than here), carrots, potatoes, grain, greens, beets, root veggies, etc. - Sarada Wednesday, December 10, 2003 11:06 PM Sadhana and food Food is a very basic part of life and everything we put into our body helps create our overall vibration. Guest guest
What I eat is important . When I eat is equally important because of my Sadhana. Since I am trying to sit in front of Ma at 8 pm and do pranayam, I try to have my dinner at 4-5 pm . The optimal food is vegetarian without a doubt , something light that leaves me feeling full without feeling heavy. I purify my food and offer it to Her with "Brahmarpanam Brahma Havir Brahmagnau Brahmanahutam Brahmaivatena gandhavyam brahmakarma samadhina" The food which is Brahman is offered to the Brahman by the Brahman. And anything I eat after that is Her Prasad. , "Sarada" <sarada_saraswati> wrote: > Food is a very basic part of life and everything we put into our > body helps create our overall vibration.
