Guest guest
We are very blessed to have Swamiji's new translation of the 1000 names of Gayatri which is now available on the web site. Just the other day we chanted it as a group with Shree Maa and Swamiji. Swamiji has included the 1000 names in stotram form as well as individually so that one can chant each name at the fire. This scripture is particularly unique and powerful because all of the names are expressed in alphabetical order and the meter maintains consistency throughout so that the number of syllables of each line of Sanskrit remains constant. It is a, rhythmical, musical, mathematical masterpiece of perfection combined into one song revealed by Brahmaa. Gaayatrii is a a Goddess. She represents the female expression of the Light of the Sun. She is the vibration of the rising sun in the morning and signifies beginnings. She is the Light of Wisdom. The Gaayatrii mantra became the main mantra of the Sanaatan Dharma, the eternal ideal of perfection. In any circumstance we find ourselves in it is always appropriate to pray for greater wisdom. In all rites of passage (babies first food, first haircut, sacred thread ceremony, marriage, death,) the Gaayatrii mantra is used. "Om Bhuur Bhuvah Swah Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhiimahi Dhiyo Yo Nah Praccodyaat" om- the infinite beyond conception Bhuur The gross body of sensory perception Bhuvah- The subtle body of internal mental conception Swah- The causal body of intuitive recognition Tat-That Savitur-Light of Wisdom Varenyam-Highest Bhargo-Wealth Devasya-of the Gods Dhiimahi-We meditate upon Dhiyo Yo Nah-Give t o us Pracodayaat-Increase, literally, rising up May Gayatrii Devi bless us all with greater wisdom! Guest guest
Awesome site! Thank you for the invite. I have been Looking for such a site and information. I knew the GOddess would bring it my way if I asked and trusted. Can you direct me to the url for this 1000 names of the Gayatri. Gayatri mantra is amazing and did things for me that Nothing else did to remove my fear that I have had for years. Very powerful. I may not completely understand, but I resonant with the energy of it. I was just reading about Shree Ma in Linda Johnsen's book. I didn't know she was still living. I did not know much about her. So glad to be asked to join the discussion list. I felt the same about mantras, afraid I did not know how to do it, and then finding out that I was doing it just fine! I will post more as I gain trust that my words and a belief that I feel so close to my heart will be received gently and lovingly. Yes, you have guess. I have shared things very personal to me on another list and was subtly rebuked because someone disagreed. On topics of lesser importance it would not have mattered, but I did not stay on that list. I was blessed with a very good friendship there however, so I am glad for that. Other lists on this topic have not had the right spirit or information in a way I could understand. This seems to be the right energy for me. I am excited about participating in the list. -td , "parvati_saraswati" <parvati_saraswati> wrote: > We are very blessed to have Swamiji's new translation of the > 1000 names of Gayatri which is now available on the web > site. > Just the other day we chanted it as a group with Shree Maa > and Swamiji. Guest guest
Welcome, turtle dragon: Shree Maa is very much with us. If you spend time with the Devi Mandir site (Shreemaa.org) and follow the conversations on this site, you will get to know Her more and more. There is a lot of open-heartedness on this site; a lot of honesty. Also, the Devi Mandir publishes lots of wonderful books by Swami Satyananda Saraswati and Shree Maa and some of their devotees. May the Goddess Bless You, Ardis "turtle dragon" <turtledragonscove > Fri, 12 Dec 2003 17:45:31 -0000 Re: Gayatrii Sahasranam Awesome site! Thank you for the invite.
