Guest guest
By far the best known Yantra is the Sree Yantra or Sree Chakra which is symbolic representation of Sree one of the many forms of the female divine. This is supposed to be the most sacred symbol of Sree Vidya tradition. This yantra is composed of 5 equilateral triangles of progressively larger size representing female or Power (Sakti) aspect of the divine and 4 equilateral triangles also progressively larger size representing the male or conscious aspect or Siva. Most commonly Sakti triangles point downward and Siva triangles point upward. Intersection of these 9 triangles is called Yonis and creates 43 small triangles. This complex figure is enclosed by the square design of Bhoopura made of 3 paralel lines and also is often surrounded by 3 concentric circles called Trivruta. First circle stands for 29 matrukas or mother deities. Second circle represents another 16 matrukas, 3rd circle symbolises 16 external beings called Nityas (who are related to the 15 tidhees,16th signifying completion and lunar ambrosia). Next comes a 16 petalled lotus each of whose petals accommodates one of the kala deities. This is followed by a 8 petalled lotus each of whose petals contains one of eight deities. The 43 interlaced form a 14 corner structure and the 14 corners also house one deity each. In fact each of the triangle is the dwelling place of a deity. The central point BINDU, also called Sarvaanandamaya Chakra, represents goddess Tripura Sundari herself to whom the yantra as a whole is dedicated. Various parts of this yantra are said to corrspond to various parts of human body. The 3 lines composing the outer square correspond to feet, knees and thighs,16 petalled lotus to the lower half of the trunk,8 petalled lotus to the navel and the various triangles to different parts of upper body particularly the head. The central point is corelated to the 1000 petalled lotus at the crown of the head which contains the opening to divine dimension. In this way SREE CHAKRA is a geometric representation of the cosmic PURUSHA. ------ River Saraswati ran through NW India till it dried up around 4000 years ago.The Indian name for goddess of learning is Saraswati. Could this be because the people of this region were once among the best educated in the world
Guest guest
Is there an audio file of the Shree Yantra mantra online? I have the words from a website but I'm just guess how to do the mantra. Maybe I just have to have confidence and I'm probably doing it right. I like the vibrations that it creates. Very much like producing all the different sound vibrations in one mantra Does anyone else have anything to share on Sri Yantra/Mantra. It is to be said to create peace, right? My understanding is that it is supposed to incorporate all energies in a positive way. Kind of like the chinese I-ching bagua. So to look on it is the integrate everything so it is all positively connected and working together in an organized and easy fashion. -td
