Guest guest
Swamiji talked about the three different kinds of teachers and the three different kinds of doctors, in last night's class on Ramakrishna. There are three kinds of doctors :- 1) Prescribes the medicine but does not follow upto see if the patient has taken the medicine. This is a very ordinary/average doctor. 2) Prescribes the medicine and goes to great lengths to explain its efficacy to the patient. This is the "good" doctor. and 3) The doctor not prescibes the medicine, and explains its efficacy but if needed would "thump the chest" of the patient and open his mouth to forcibly feed if necessary. This is the above-average or excellent kind of doctor. Similarly there are three kinds of spiritual teachers :- 1) The kind that prescribes a sadhana and does not follow up with the students. The average teacher. 2) The kind that explains the sadhana and the reasons behind the sadhana . The good teacher. 3) The kind that makes sure that the students practices the sadhana even if that means the teacher has to grab his shoulders and force feed the technique. This is the rare breed of teachers that truly care about the students . Jai Swamiji !
