Guest guest
The more I chant the Chandi (Saptasati) the more I am convinced that there is SOMETHING to the Sadhana. I am unable to define it - all I know is that if I sit through however long it takes, I come out feeling much better regardless of what frame of mind I went in. Will ANY scripture chanted with the commitment of "seeing it through to the end" give me the same benefits ? That is a debatable point. I read this in the Introduction given by Swami "Saptasati is a Way. Daily reciting the verses, we offer to Mother all our troubles, afflictions, all manner of thoughts and perturbations - even the very Ego itself ; and one by one She cuts them down, purifies them with the vibrations of Her mantras, until we , too , become the One of Intuitive Vision who only desires the Highest Wisdom that removes the attachments of the Ego ". Spoken by a Rishi who has made the Chandi the sum substance of His life. Jai Swamiji !

Certaqainly not. The Chandi is special. The Devi Mandir has published many fine sanscrit scriptures. The all have special qualities all their own. Still the Chandi is unique and in a category all its own. It is super special. Chandi Maa ki jai...
Guest guest
Hi Latha, Well, as I discussed a little with you before, I have come to believe that it is the actual relationship we have with the particular scripture that makes all the difference--how we take it in, how we let the words form in our mouth, our devotion, our connection to it, to the deity She is, and on and on. I do not believe there is a generic "result" with any scripture, even for any one individual person. When we make Her our own, no matter what form she takes, that is what gives the fruit of our action. And She has infinite forms! Swamiji has translated many, and enough, but again, she is infinite in her manifestations.
