Guest guest
ILLUMINATION OF CONSCIOUSNESS An introduction to Swami Satyananda's books by Shree Maa http://www.shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm Human birth is the greatest birth. Human beings have the capacity to illuminate consciousness. The illumination of consciousness creates the functions of creation, preservation, dissolution. Because of the illumination of that pure consciousness and the protection of creation, Brahma has created the Vedas. The wisdom of the Vedas does not admit to distinctions of birth or race. There is no distinction as to religious beliefs. In olden days the seers of wisdom illuminated the scriptures without prejudice to distinctions of birth or race. When humanity will feel the wisdom of the Vedas and live in accordance with their teachings, then all human beings will believe that they are parts of one universal family. That is why the Vedas, scriptures, and other writings of wisdom have been illuminated for the benefit of humanity. Oh My Beloved Universal family, study the inner meanings of the Vedic scriptures, and feel the inherent wisdom within, and illuminate your own consciousness. Within human beings is the illumination of various energies. Each individual energy has its own form and its own illumination. The great seers of wisdom have said, "Pu means merit, and Ja means to give birth." Puja is the action which gives birth to merit. The great seers of wisdom have explained various ways to conduct worship in order to illuminate truth-consciousness-bliss. For example, Kali, Durga, Saraswati, Lakshmi, various deities when worship in different ways, can give statement to various energies. By worshipping the deities with form, the great seers of wisdom and aspirants have arrived at the contemplation of the formless. In the Sanskrit language every letter has an illumination of meaning in the gross, subtle and causal bodies. When we worship with Sanskrit mantras with faith and devotion, we awaken that energy and truth-consciousness-bliss. Swami Satyananda Saraswati has written translations of many different systems of worship for the upliftment of humanity. All the Gods and Goddesses give us various energies and forms. For example, Durga Puja destroys all obstacles. Kali Puja illuminates all darkness. Lakshmi takes us to our goals. Saraswati gives us wisdom. Vishnu gives us strength and protection. Shiva illuminates truth-consciousness-bliss. All of these forms of worship illuminate the highest virtues of humanity. This wisdom has no distinction as to race or belief. They only speak of the highest attainment of mankind. Swamiji's Books: Swamiji's books give us beautiful knowledge about ourselves.
