Guest guest
Last eve I talked about Shiva puja. Tonight, Durga Daily I perform this worship to She who destroyes confusion, fear, and the great ego. She is the embodiment of shaki, the power, soul, and force of all relative action on every level. Maa sits in deepest silence and out of Her comes the impulses which nourish the entire universe: the one verse, the one song, the one tune we all hum always and forever. All is love, love is all, Maa is all of this and more. And all flows back to Her. And is silent, but charged with love, vibrant with love, full of love. And the cycle goes on and on. Without Her, nothing exists. I love the image of Mother standing on Shiva's chest. He laying down in bliss, She standing on His chest. He is immobile and in Bliss, She commands all action. Maa sings, "....all action you perform Maa, though people say that I have done. Everything is your desire. Supreme desire oh Dear Mother, all action your perform Maa..." Worship Durga to get into the flow of love and shakti. To have Her destroy the ego and all the limitations and boundries which separate us artifically, one from the other. To run into Mother's arms and be soothed by Her. Then bound back into action. Charged and ready to fly. There is such joy in imagining Mother's feet resting on my altar and gently offering my all to Her feet. Performing puja to Her feet. Offering flowers, water, milk, yogurt, honey, sugar water, and then drying Her feet with a perfumed cloth. Then decorating them with flowers, sandle paste, Kum-kum, and offering Her food and water. Now She is happy, and She smiles into my heart and removes the suffering and sorrow. She knows my prononuncation is not perfect, and I can's sit still, and I rush sometimes cause I am tired, but She always smiles into my heart. Mother can do no less. As She says, .."a child can be bad, but a Mother never can..." Worship Her to whatever capacity you can. Don't delay. Let Her stand on your chest and hold sway over your world. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. Jai Maa Vishweshwar, Maa's child
Guest guest
Namaste Vish, Thank you for your inspired words. I would like to share something for beginners of Durga Puja. If you are bogged down with details, the sanskrit etc , start with what I started out with - The 32 names of Durga. The 32 names of Durga is 6 verses in the praise of She Who removes Confusion. Durgam means confusion and Durga - is She who takes away the confusion.. One of her names an my favorite is DurgaSaadhini - She who does intense tapas to drive out confusion. Maa encourages us to memorize the 32 names and sometimes tells us to chant it eleven times . It is not much if you think about it - one recitation of the 32 names takes maybe 2 minutes (or 5 if you are starting out). It is about the length of a short car ride ... Jai Durga ! Guest guest
Namaste Vishweshwar, That you are Maa's child there is no doubt, one just has to experience your dance before her and feel the bliss and love that emanates from your being. It's as though only She and you are in the entire room. Jai Maa!! Shiva's post was beautiful but I do not know the words for this one, just to say for me it is very inspiring as I too perform daily worship to Durga/Kali and can truly relate to what you have said. What draws me most is the fact that you see the altar as Mother's foot, at times her foot seems so, so large that it startles, offerings cease for a while and I can just gaze and gaze at its magnitude and Her bone white toenails. At the end taking it all inside be it in meditation, singing, weeping or dancing, we are lovingly held in her arms despite any imperfection like prononuncation and fed from Her wisdom and devotion. Thanks so much for this post. Victory to Mother! Victory to Vishweshwar! Kali , "inspectionconnection108" <inspectionconnection108> wrote: > Last eve I talked about Shiva puja.
