Guest guest
I am having some problems either downloading or playing the files. I guess my default player is the Real audio player. It might help if you don't put spaces in the file names. Use hyphen or underscore. Pranams, Surya - Sarada Wednesday, January 07, 2004 9:28 PM New auido file uploaded with Shree Maa and Swamiji! Jai Maa,We just uploaded an audio file of Maa and Swamiji's translation of the Gospael of Sri Ramakrishna from the original Bengali. Please let us know what you think of it and if you would like to see more of this. Jai Maa! Here is a preview. It is 6 pm on a Saturday evening at the Mandir. The devotees and disciples are gathered at the Mandir with a look of anticipation. Some have travelled from afar , all tired after a long week of work. They look eagerly to the door for Shree Maa and Swamiji to arrive. There is a sigh of relief, a joyous hubbub when they do. Suddenly the mood shifts from one of waiting to one of activity. People push forward to say "Namaste" , or to prostrate before them , some scurry around to make sure that Maa and Swami are comfortable."Is everything in order , do they need anything ..." Maa and Swami slowly walk to their asans but stop often to say a "Hello" or "Nice that you could come today" or "How are you" to several people. Finally everybody settles down and Maa requests a devotee to do the Arati. The Arati starts ... Maa leads the song of the day .It could be a Ramakrishna, or Shiva or the ever popular Chandi Arati. Some disciples play instruments, some sing along and others just sit and soak in Maa's sweet voice, content to merely watch . The arati gathers momentum and some people can sit no more, they get up and sway to the music. Suddenly , the cares of the world just roll off the shoulders and there is a look of rejuvenation on tired faces. "I am so glad I came." The song ends but the offerings in the Arati are not yet over - the devotee is lovingly offering all the attention and respect possible to the several murtis in the Mandir. Shree Maa continues singing "Jai Maa" and everybody is following her , their throats hoarse, but delirious and delighted and overjoyed. Finally the Arati climaxes to the shouts of "Chandi Maa Ki Jai" and theblowing of conches and beats of drums. And then silence.Maa and Swami slip into meditation and others follow. Several minutes tick by ... . Maa and Swami are so still ... not a movement from either of them. They are not aware of the people around them . Everyone is absorbed in meditationTime passes by ...There is a soft voice that breaks into the meditation . Maa is singing the Pranamah . Slowly, people rouse themselves from the deep silence and relaxation to sing with her. Finally Maa ends with a blessing " Peace to all the three worlds" -Om Shanti Shanti Shanti . And turns to wish everyone "Namaste" - I bow to your Highest self. There are a few minutes of a companiable silence when Swami turns around to face the audience . Mikes are adjusted . People turn to sit around in a circle and face Maa and Swamiji. There are a lot of smiles and again the look of anticipation towards Maa and Swamiji. What will Maa and Swamiji have to say today ? The class maybe on Maa reading of the Gospel from the original Bengali and Swamiji translating into English .... but the eagerness is to hear the asides - Maa's sudden and unexpected comments, or Swamiji's explanation of some point discussed in the translation, or just to see and enjoy the interaction between Maa and Swamiji. Will Maa suddenly start singing one of the songs in the Gospel and mesmerize everyone with her honey voice . Will she start laughing delightedly and clapping her hands at some comment from the book and Swamiji join in with his uproarious laughter ?Maa looks ready to start and Swami looks intent - ready for every Bengali word , and translating them back into perfect sentences in English ...Everybody leans forward and look at them receptively ....Maa begins ...To visit your group on the web, go to:/ To from this group, send an email to:
