Is God with or without Form ?

Dear All,

I helped transcribe one of the Ramakrishna classes. It gave me the

opportunity to REALLY pay attention to every word that Swamiji was

saying as I had to write them down.

And what a blessing ! I absorbed and understood all the more.

In that class, one of the anecdotes was on Ramakrishna explaining to

the devotees how God is both with and without form.

He says that God is the ocean of sat-chit-ananda. Where it is very

cold, the water congeals into ice . Similarly, where there is a lot

of devotion , the ocean of sat-chit-ananda congeals into various

forms. Therefore God is with form. When the sun of wisdom arises, the

ice melts back into water, and the form goes back into the formless.

So God is formless.

Namaste Ardis,

The transcription will go through various stages of editing and

formatting and will published into a book sometime in the near

future. Stay tuned :)

I will continue to provide nuggets and notes from the class as and

when I come across them.
