And the most famous Nyas is San-Nyas - establishment of truth within. One of the nyasas that is very often used in the pujas is Kara nyas. This is establishment of the bija mantra of the deity of worship in the fingers. For example in the Shiva Puja , the bija is namashivaya and this is how the establishment happens Om I establish 'Nam' in my thumbs Om I establish 'Ma' in my forefingers Om I establish 'Shim' in my middle fingers Om I establish 'Vam' in my ring fingers Om I establish 'ya' in my little fingers And I 'seal' the bija in my hands with a clap. >From then on, anything I touch is filled Shiva's bija ...
