Guest guest
Swamiji and I were talking about the questions that he posts on the forum from time to time. The purpose of the questions, he said, was to get us to introspect - and draw a parallel between the Chandi and our lives. The real value to any study of a spiritual text is to see its practical application in our everyday lives. The battlefield is not just in the Chandi but also inside us. Take the "Destroyers of Worship " question that he recently asked. It is an example of how a few negative emotions can overshadow and destroy all the positive concepts that we have built up. When the negativity creeps in, all the focus transfers to those negative thoughts. That is why the "enemies, even though fewer in number, are mightier" and destroy Good Thoughts. When we start correlating the events in our lives to the events in the Chandi, we become more alert. When the demons start creeping into our minds, and creating havoc, then we have greater capacity to understand. As Swamiji mentions in another post, we witness the destruction of these negative forces while we are in the constant praise of the Goddess. We dwell on the most positive and allow the Goddess to consume the negative. The Chandi is a practical training manual - PRACTICAL. Let us take Swamiji's questions and Chandi Maa's help, and see how they can transform our being. JAI MAA! JAI SWAMIJI!
Guest guest
Namaste Lathananda, Thank You so much for posting the below. Very timely advice, as you know I just started to read the Chandi as well. The below has spurred me on to thinking about all that I have read so far in a whole new light and to keep it in mind as I continue to read and learn.
