Chris had mentioned in his post that he loved this song. So do I. It is full of meaning and so very practical too. The song is "Bhaavile Bhaaver Uuday hay" - The substance of your thoughts becomes the reality ... Ever felt an impending doom and seen it happen ? It is almost as if we were sowing the seeds and nurturing the climate for it to happen . Ramprasad says in this song, how powerful our thoughts really are . It makes us think twice before indulging in a fantasy of revenge/anger/hatred etc. "As is your thought , so is your profit, the root is your idea ." Swamiji says in "The Guru and the Goddess" : "From your bhaava , your bhaava grows . It rises. the root is your idea. It is all in your mind. As is your bhaava, so is your devotion. If you conceive that you are married to Lord Shiva and you are the handmaiden of the Lord, if you surrender to that bhaava, you gain, he gains, they gain, we gain, because the root is your idea.
