Guest guest
How do you stay inspired in your resolution/sadhana ? Any tips/tricks/motivational ideas that you can share ? This is what works for me - "Showing up" Controlling the body/circumstances works for me. I sit at my altar whether I feel like chanting or not. There have been days where I drop to sleep at my altar or just day dream. But by just committing myself to sit there, I have the continuity. And before I know I am chanting/praying/meditating again. Guest guest
In the Ramayana there are nine steps of Devotion explained: 1. Associate with saintly people 2. Enjoy stories of divinity and divinely inspired beings 3. Feel the privilege to perform selfless service as an _expression of love 4. Sing of divine qualities or characteristics without any selfish motivation 5. Recite mantras with full faith 6. Perform all actions with tranquility, and see every circumstance as an opportunity to manifest perfection 7. See the world as equal to God, and regard the company of saintly beings as a greater opportunity than the perception of God 8. Be satisfied with whatever we receive as the fruit of our actions, and do not contemplate the faults of others 9. Remain with simplicity all the time, renounce conniving for selfish ends, and take delight in faith in God with neither exultation nor unhappiness These are the nine steps of devotion. Try these in order to keep your inspiration alive. , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > How do you stay inspired in your resolution/sadhana ? Guest guest
Latha, What really inspires me are those times when I have full faith that the Gurudeva is with me in my practices, watching, guiding, and helping. After I am done, I feel pleased knowing I have pleased the guru by my efforts. At those times the faith of the guru, in me and the eventual success of my efforts, more than makes up for any lack of faith I have in myself. Guest guest
Thank you Chris. Maa often says "Vishwas Karo" meaning "Have Faith". Having faith seems to me sometimes like stepping off a precipice. I am ready to fall , but lo I am given wings and fly instead. Faith in the practices ! Faith in the Guru ! Faith that so many saints and sages across the centuries cannot be wrong ! Faith ! Faith ! Ultimately it will lead to faith in ourselves ! Thank you again for sharing your inspiration.
