Guest guest
Here is a question that I have been pondering over. I would appreciate a response from anyone that has an insight. There is a chapter in the Prayog of the Chandi called "Praise to the Night of Duality" . And Swamiji writes that the entire 700 verses is a commentary of the Rig Vedic Praise to the Night of Duality, and Rig Vedic Praise to the Goddess who is Unity. Why "praise" to the Night of Duality ? Why would we want to praise something that is divisive? Any ideas/insights ? Anyone ? Namaste Latha
Guest guest
Latha, It is because all this is She. In some way beyond understanding, all of this is just an expression of her ultimate beauty. All of it. Some day we will all understand. (As Maa sometime, if you get the chance, just to see what she says) Chris , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > Here is a question that I have been pondering over. Guest guest
Namaste! The Night of Duality is Maya. She is the darkness of the illusion of duality, therefore she is the Mother of all distinction. All that is, exists through Her. Since she really is the All-Mother, we have to praise her even as we ask her to step aside so we may wake up to non-dual reality, which is also Maa. You've got to love her! Jai Maa! Love from Leon. Guest guest
The Night of Duality exposes Her sister the Dawning Light. Were it not for the darkness, we would never know the light. That is why She is worthy of praise. Another reason is that in the song of praise, She becomes ours. The Darkness of ignorance has come under control and has departed. Now we get to live with the Light of knowledge whenever we please. , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > Here is a question that I have been pondering over. Guest guest
In the Great Swan, Meetings with Ramakrishna, Lex Hixon translates the following passage. Ramakrishna to Keshab Sen: To be aware that it is nighttime presumes that one has experienced daylight. Conversely, to know when day arrives, one must have been through the night. To know the bliss of union, one must have experienced the suffering of separation. "Chris Kirner" <chriskirner1956 > Tue, 10 Feb 2004 20:31:05 -0000 Re: Praise to the Night of Duality.
