Guest guest
I remember asking this question sometime ago to both Maa and Swamiji and I got two responses. I thought then that they were so different. This is to do with wanting to pray but not "feeling like" praying . Swamiji had suggested that we control the external and said "I can keep my knees down and stay in the asan whether or not the mind feels like it" and Maa had said "Just surrender" I thought both responses were so different. But now I realise both are effective advice - it just depends on what I need based on my frame of mind at that moment. The times when I do sit halfheartedly but dont feel like sitting for long , or breaking the asan, Swamiji's advice comes in handy. The times when I dont even feel like sitting , when I dont even have the energy to resume my prayer, Maa's advice is useful . I just surrender . I ask "Maa, I do want to pray, but my present frame of mind and circumstances are coming in the way. I leave it upto you to help me organize my life so that I can devote the time to You" And the help does come !!! All I need is to be open to give up my tamas in all its forms - laziness/ignorance/resistance. Thank you Maa and Swamiji.
