Guest guest
I believe the purpose of any spiritual practice is to establish a distance between the thinker and the thought . With Her Grace, stopping the thoughts and becoming "thoughtless" will come later in the practice. I was full of negative thoughts just yesterday and was having a full blown battle in my head. All the Asuras were dancing and winning and roaring mercilessly at me . While I was struggling , I also kept thinking of the last question that Swamiji had asked us in this forum, on the Destroyers of Worship - how negativity seeps like poison , gets all the attention, and ruins all the good thoughts/intentions that I have built up. It was then, a small tiny thought said "Hey, you dont have to identify with all this misery. Do you choose to identify with the Goddess or with the thought that is dragging you down ?" Time to put into practice what I had been reading/talking/chanting about all along in the Chandi. The moment there is a separation between the thought and the thinker, the power of that negativity disappears. It no longer has a hold over me. I guess this is what Maa means when she says "Wake up" . And the moment the thought has no hold over me, I can take a dispassionate/compassionate look the trouble and handle it without getting emotional or overwhelmed. A two step process the next time we are down and out 1) Call Maa and visualize her near. 2) Make the conscious choice to identify with Her. Look at the thoughts as clothes we wear in our minds. We can take off the negative ones and wear the positive ones. Simple really !
