Honoring the book that imparts knowledge

The students of yore relied on Sruti and Smriti - listening and

remembering the words of the Guru.

 

We now have books that have recorded all the magnificient verses.

 

There is a verse in the Chandi that honors the book that we are

using to chant Her glories.

 

It says

 

"Ete Gandhapushpe Om hrim Pustakaya Namah"

 

or

 

"With these scented flowers, Om we bow to the book "

 

I bow with reverence to all the books that have taught me so much.
