My Dream

Namaste,

Hello My name is Aaron and I had a Dream one night concerning the

Devi Mandir and Im not sure what it meant, first let me tell you a

little bit about myself. I am a Saivite and have no doubt what so

ever that Lord Siva is my Ishta Devata although I do worship the Holy

Family which is Siva, Devi, Skanda And of course Lord Ganapati who I

worship on there Auspcious days although I worship the siva lingam

Daily. anyway I have had alot of doubts lately concerning Hinduism

and the path I have chosen. Even though many times I have been proven

that the path of the Sanatana Darhma is the correct one for me.

Anyway one morning I did not wake up to worship cause I felt like it

wouldn;t do me any good anyway, and it happened to be an auspicious

day for worship of the Divine Mother Shri MahaDevi and I had a dream

that i was at the Devi Mandir in the basement or atleast I think it

was. I was the only one there and in the basement there was an alter

it was set in a garden like setting like in a gazebo or something(I

think). There was no Image on the alter of any particular god or

goddess but i felt as though it were an alter for Devi in the middle

of the alter was a square fild with gravel and some candles sitting

on it that were not lit and I remember I had some insence in my

pocket. above the alter on two sides were 2 gold bells on each side

hanging from gold chains in the middle hangin form the ceiling were

two scarves like sari's or something and I don't remember what color

they were,except they had gold edges but anyway I was sitting in

front of the alter and I felt the need to perform Puja however I felt

like I wasn;t supposed to be there, like I was there without

Permission or I just didn;t want anyone to know I was there. I was

about to perform puja and light the insence and two white candles

when I heard people coming down the stairs I didn;t want anyone to

know I was there so I left and thats all i remember. keep in mind I

have never been to the Devi Mandir or your Temple Infact I don't know

much about any of you. so it was really strange that I Identified

where I was at, with the Devi Mandir. so i was wondering if anyone

could help make sense of this dream Cause Im not to good at

decifering my dreams. but yeah I thought I would share that with all

of you in hopes of maybe getting an answer or atleast some opinions

thanks.

Namaste Aaron,

 

I bow to you and your experience. I have not had any such similar

dream experiences myself and hope that someone on the forum can help

you interpret them.

 

I gather that you are drawn to the Devi Mandir and also that your

Ishta is Lord Shiva. This month is especially auspicious for Lord

Shiva, and may I suggest that you take a look at the Shiva Puja

books written by our Swamiji and supplement them to your existing

Sadhana. The Rudrashtadhyayi is also an excellent book .

 

In my humble opinion, we are the closest to Maa and Swamiji or

indeed with any Guru when we are following their teachings and doing

sadhana. By looking to understand Swamiji's book on Shiva Puja, you

are taking a step to knowing them more.

 

And we know the truth of the old statement "When you take one step

towards the Divine, She takes 10 towards you".

 

Here is praying that your budding love affair with the Devi Mandir

blossoms into a fragrant flower.
