Every sadhu from any Akhara is welcome to stay in any other Akhara.

Any sadhu who has adhikara is welcome to teach any sadhu of any other

tradition. Adhikara means who has authority - something to teach.

I don't think this is a hard fast rule, but this is common.

The Kumbh and other melas are efforts to promote the akhara. Of

course sadhus stay with their own akhara at the melas. But when

traveling sadhus visit and stay at other akharas.

Our lineage is associated with Sringeri Math, Niranjani akhara

is inifinitely far short of Yours, I have almost always seen sadhus

staying with others from the same Akhara, especially at the Kumbhs.

While they may visit other akharas typically they stayed within

their own. I found this to be the case with those I have met when

they travelled as well. Teaching is of course another matter, and I

have no experience to comment.

swamiji,

can you tell us anything else of your lineage?

whe you say "our lineage" do you mean both you and shree maa, or the

lineage that proceeds back from your own guru?

apologies if this is already stated in one of your books.

respectfully,

steve c.
