Guest guest
Namaste All, I loved Steve's suggestion of doing a japa or shloka for certain number of times during Navaratri. Can we keep it up collectively for Nine days ? That would be fantastic. How about we try for atleast 1 day ? I thought we could perhaps take up the 32 names of Durga and take a sankalpa to chant that a minimum 11 times during the day. It is small enough not to take up too much time and those that want to do more can always do more. I would say we each volunteer to chant it on the hour once a day. So for example 6 Am :- 32 names of Durga - 11 times Latha 7 AM :- Steve 8 AM :- Kali and so on. We could do this from 6 AM to 9 PM - so 16 times (including 6 am and 9 pm) . So collectively we would have chanted it 176 times that day. And if we each keep it up for nine days , we individually do it for 99 times , and if we keep it up for 10 days then we cross the 108 times during this auspicious period. How does this sound - any volunteers - we need atleast 16 ppl . More even better. A small sankalpa - a test in our coordination and willingness to participate and be a part of the spirit of Navaratri. Let us see how we can collectively give our energy to Maa. Guest guest
I too like this idea. It would give me an opportunity to memorize the 32 names of Durga. , "bingo_ridley" <sconnor@a...> wrote: > i will happily do this. i am home most of the week days this week and > next, if we need to plan ... either on IM, e-mail, phone, or here. > > s > > , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> > wrote: > > Namaste All, > > > > I loved Steve's suggestion of doing a japa or shloka for certain > > number of times during Navaratri. > > > > Can we keep it up collectively for Nine days ? Guest guest
Namaste Latha, Thanks for the inclusion. Just wanted to remind you that due to time difference 4.00 a.m this side is 8.00 a.m. in C.A. While this time does is great for me it is unsure how it fits into the 6 am - 9 pm schedule. Please let me know.
