Hi,

Would someone please elaborate on the various uses of vibhuti and if

there are any mantras associated with its use?

I'd like to share a practice I have started. I have a Mrtyunjaya

Yantra. Everyday, I light a candle and some doop and place a copper

cup of water on the table with the yantra, then recite the mantra 108

times. Then I drink the mantra blessed water. The water can also be

used to sprinkled around the house to dissipate any negative

energies. I visualized the mantra as a shield, and also visualize

Shiva healing me as I chant it. I drink some of the water, then

place the cup in front of Gayatri and recite 108 of that mantra.

Then the Ramakrishna mantra...Hanuman and others. That water is my

daily communion and prasad.

Namaste

Maureen,

That's a beautiful practice.

The Mahamritunjaya is my central mantra right now - it's very

beautiful.

I healed of psoriasis in the hands singing Mahamritunjaya Mantra. I had this

illness since I was boy and it is an incurable illness.

Best wishes.

Namaste Maureen,

Here is a mantra that Swamiji generally uses with ashes as a tilak

at the end of the fire ceremony. You can find this mantra in the

Advanced Shiva puja page 432.

"tryaayusanjamadagne kasyapasyattryaayusam

yaddevesuttryaayusantanno-astuttryaayusam"

Three lifetimes filled with Peace is the blessing of Jamadagni

(Literally, He who gives birth to Fire). From the muni, Kasyapa,

three lifetimes filled with Peace. From all the Gods three lifetimes

filled with Peace, so let that be unto you, three lifetimes filled

with peace!
