Guest guest
Pranams, Swamiji. As a newcomer, I answer with mostly intuition and little information. So be patient with my enthusiasm but perhaps wrong efforts. We give birth to our own good thoughts with our sincere intention. Without this we are lost. But we have this, so we are not lost. God bless the fortunate hearts we have. We must dwell in positive thinking. But it is also analytical thinking. "Rah-rah" thoughts will not do, this will not lead to liberation, but a kind of self-stupefaction. Life-thoughts, based on working out a life that pragmatically and morally supports devotion and enquiry ... this will help us birth the King of good thoughts ... and then, if God wills, we go beyond all thoughts. Love to you Swamiji, thank you for the opportunity to answer and learn. Forgive my excess of words, I am not so efficient yet. Guest guest
We give birth to our own Kings of Good Thoughts by acknowledging our lineage (our spiritual and biological ancestors), especially those who dwell in consciousness. Then we are able to enjoy the privilege of worship. By doing puja we earn the highest merit, the privilege of sitting in the presence of God. This is the highest bliss, akhanda satchidananda. Guest guest
Dear Swamiji, At first I didnt know how to answer this question. Then I looked up your "Study of Chapter 1" and found your explanation and that gave me my answer. You define Svaarocishe as one who makes himself or herself radiant, or who is delighted in just being himself or herself. In that period, that is ruled by Svaarocishe, someone who is just delighted to be himself or herself, the King of Good thoughts was born. Also, not just someone who is delighted to be himself or herself, but someone who is dwelling in Consciousness. So how do I give birth to the King of Good thoughts within me ? I simply allow myself to be me . Not just the normal "me" but the me that dwells in consciousness. And then all the thoughts that arise from me will be Good Thoughts. Therein lies the catch for me - to dwell in consciouness, to simply allow myself to be me, the Sadhana of chanting the Chandi comes in . Always, always it comes back to the same point. Keep at the Sadhana. And the moment where I can simply BE - will happen, out of which only the Good Thoughts will arise. Thank you for the question that spurred me to search deeper. Guest guest
Such a nice straight forward answer Latha ...maybe a hint that Swamiji is aiming us towards not our own intuitions but reference to the scriptural text for the "answers" ... realizing of course this is not like arithmetic, with simple right and wrong ... however it is no doubt smart to be alert for the best way to utilize swamiji's gentle offerings, if we see this as a great opportunity. , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > Dear Swamiji, > > At first I didnt know how to answer this question. Guest guest
Namaste Swamiji, I have been thinking about what gives birth to Good Thoughts and what came to mind was the 9 steps of Devotion as outlined by Ram to Mata Savari who was an extremely devoted soul. Every day she would line her walkway with flowers waiting for the day when Sri Ram would give her darshan. When Sri Ram finally appeared she gave him a message and then Ram was going to leave but she told him he could not leave until he taught her about devotion. Ram told her he did not know what more he could teach her about devotion since she was already so devoted. But Mata Savari would not let Ram leave until he told her what would inspire greater devotion within her. In Tulasidasa's Ramayan in the Aranya Kand in the 35th doha are the 9 steps of devotion: 1. Associate with saintly people 2. Enjoy stories of divinity and divinely inspired beings 3. Feel the privilege to perform selfless service as an expression of love 4. sing the divine qualities without selfish motivation 5. recite mantras with full faith 6. perform all actions with tranquility 7. see the world as equal to God and regard the company of saintly beings as a greater opportunity to manifest perfection 8. be satisfied with whatever one receives as the fruit of one's actions and don't contemplate the faults of others 9. remain with simplicity all of the time, renounce conniving for selfish ends, take delight in faith of God with neither exultations nor unhappiness One who performs even one of these steps is most beloved by God. All of these forms of devotion are present within great measure within each person. Jai Sri Ram! Jai Swamiji! Thank you for translating the 9 steps of Devotion which can be found in the Guru and the Goddess pags.29-32 , "swami_satyanandasaraswati" <swami_satyanandasaraswati> wrote: > Good Thoughts was born in the lineage of those who dwell in > consciousness. Guest guest
(Please pardon the late response). By the study and practice of the sadhana pancakam (Siva Puja) along with Kasyapa Sutra 2 (Guru and the Goddess), I think that we can give birth to our own Kings of Good thoughts. Nine steps to devotion are included in Sutra 2, of these, by the grace of Beloved ShreeMaa and Swamiji, we are provided with the materials of the first 4 steps through this online group, books, satsanga, puja, donation, etc. - (Associate with saintly people; Enjoy stories of divinity and divinely inspired beings; Feel the privilege to perform selfless service as an expression of love; sing the divine qualities without selfish motivation). These four provide the necessary foundation for us to perform the remaining steps - - recite mantras with full faith- perform all actions with tranquility- see the world as equal to God and regard the company of saintly beings as a greater opportunity to manifest perfection- be satisfied with whatever one receives as the fruit of one's actions and don't contemplate the faults of others-remain with simplicity all of the time, renounce conniving for selfish ends, take delight in faith of God with neither exultations nor unhappiness Jai Shree Maa ki jai!
