Guest guest
Kali, I'm not even sure it was Dattatreya. Perhaps Swamiji, if he has heard of this example, can either affirm or point you to the right person. I will try to remember where I read it. Guest guest
Dear Kali, This is a information note to your following question. The sage who had back deformity is Sage Astavakra. He had 8 deformities to his back so he was called as Asta(eight in sansrkit)vakra(deformities). Lord Dattatreya didn't have any such problems. He is a Yogeeswara like Lord Siva and is considered to be embodiment of the Trinity (Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Siva). Hope this helps. Pranams, Prasad. Guest guest
Kali, I'm sorry. I couldn't find it. I remember very clearly reading it because it's such an important bit of information, but I can not recall exactly where it was, or who it was (though it was a great sage). Perhaps Swamiji will know more. Chris , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati> wrote: > Yes Chris, this is very much the information which I seek. Guest guest
oh that is excellent. i had forgotten about Astavakra, of course! his Gita is remarkable. i always am happy for an example such as this, when someone had what appears to be a limitation and then went past it to inspire others. i do hope that would apply to someone with a spinal issue. the heart, that must be what matters most. , prasad pratapa <pratapaprasad> wrote: > Dear Kali, > This is a information note to your following > question. Guest guest
Dearest Chris, Steve, Prasad, Dharmanda, (apologies if I have missed anyone) The information given and your words of inspiration are a great help, I have also learnt the name of another sage "Ashtavakra", (I enjoy reading their stories). Thanks to each and everyone of you. My dear Chris, no need for apology you made the effort and the name was given. I hope we will all get the chance to hear Swamiji's view on the subject. Thanks again. Love, Kali Chris Kirner <chriskirner1956 > wrote: Kali,I'm not even sure it was Dattatreya. Guest guest
If the mind is wandering deep meditation is not possible. Trying to keep the spine straight is a posture of attention. , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati> wrote: > > Dearest Chris, Steve, Prasad, Dharmanda, (apologies if I have missed anyone) > > The information given and your words of inspiration are a great help, I have also learnt the name of another sage "Ashtavakra", (I enjoy reading their stories).
