Chandi Question

Namaste.

There is a Vedic Astrology site that offers a Chandi Path kit as a

remedy. They say it is not necessary to chant it or even read it,

just playing the correctly pronounced mantras will create an

extremely powerful vibration of protection and purification. Chanting

and reading it help but are not necessary. They offer a Shakti

version and a Bhakti version. The difference being the raga and rasa

changes, the shakti is the more immediate and stronger sonic

intervention.

Is there any truth to this?

Blessings,

Maureen

Re: .Question

Namaste Maureen,Here is a mantra that Swamiji generally uses with

ashes as a tilak at the end of the fire ceremony. You can find this

mantra in the Advanced Shiva puja page 432."tryaayusanjamadagne

kasyapasyattryaayusamyaddevesuttryaayusantanno-astuttryaayusam"Three

lifetimes filled with Peace is the blessing of Jamadagni(Literally,

He who gives birth to Fire). From the muni, Kasyapa, three lifetimes

filled with Peace. From all the Gods three lifetimes filled with

Peace, so let that be unto you, three lifetimes filled with peace!---

vibhuti and if there are any mantras associated with its use?> I'd

like to share a practice I have started. I have a Mrtyunjaya Yantra.

Everyday, I light a candle and some doop and place a copper cup of

water on the table with the yantra, then recite the mantra 108 times.

Then I drink the mantra blessed water. The water can also be used to

sprinkled around the house to dissipate any negative energies. I

visualized the mantra as a shield, and also visualize Shiva healing

me as I chant it. I drink some of the water, then place the cup in

front of Gayatri and recite 108 of that mantra. Then the Ramakrishna

mantra...Hanuman and others. That water is my daily communion and

prasad.> Namaste> Maureen

For me it is necessary to recite the Chandi, for I find truth in the

words of the Goddess over the benefits of regular Chandi practice.

For all the years of this century I have always wanted to do much

more than merely listen to my Chandi learning tapes. I want to live

the Chandi and many other of the pujas in my everday life. I want the

Chandi and some of the other pujas to devour all that remains of my

life from this point forward. For this to happen, I strongly suspect

that I might have to do a little bit more than just listen to tapes.
