Guest guest
You can also make ghee at home. Use unsalted butter, melt slowly, then filter through a clean cloth or cheese cloth into a clean jar. Get as much of the white fat out as possible. Two lbs of unsalted butter makes 1 of ghee. It does not require refridgeration. Warm the ghee: you can place the jar in hot water, and dip the cotton wick into the liquified ghee: pour more ghee into the lamp, and add the wick. - Satish Arigela Thursday, March 18, 2004 9:38 AM Re: Durga puja class /setting up an altar , "parvati_saraswati108" <parvati_saraswati108> wrote:> Placed two flower vases next to the picture. It will be nice and auspicious if candles are replaced with cotton wick lamps having cow ghee(clarified butter obtained from Cow's milk) as fuel. Using materials obtained from cow for puja can have purifying ritualistic effect. The place is made holy by their very presence. These can be found in any Indian grocery store.Rgds
