Guest guest
Swamiji, Latha, and all, I will again attempt more than one answer, if this does not displease the group. This I learned from doing the Durga Puja the first time ... These are the 9 Durgas [relievers of difficulties]; enumerated, the Goddess: 1. of Inspiration 2. of Sacred Study 3. of Delight in Practice 4. of Purifying Austerity 5. who Nurtures Divinity 6. who is Ever-pure and Free from Error 7. of the Dark Night of Overcoming Egotism 8. of the Great Radiant Light 9. who Grants Perfection So ... it is my thought, the 9 days correlate to the 9 Durgas.
