Guest guest
The in-depth "Study of Chapter Two" of the Chandi is now available at our online bookstore. In this book , like its predecessor , Swamiji parses EACH verse of chapter two ,down to the individual words and meanings. He then threads all the words together and gives the complete garland of meaning. It is a must-have for any serious student of the Chandi . What is chapter two about ? Swamiji writes ... "The Great Ego is extremely powerful and devious. He will stop at nothing to get us to be his servants. That is his job. That is his nature. We cant ask him to change his nature. All we can do is to ask the Divine Mother to take Her energy away from the Ego and give it to the Gods, so we can maintain our divine perception as Gods and Goddesses. That is what is happening in Chapter Two" My personal take on the book - this is one of the few books , aside from the Kashyapa Sutras, where Swamiji expands on the philosophy behind what we read. In Pages 3-6 , and again in pages 50-58, Swamiji elaborates on the story of Chapter Two, how it applies to us in our everyday lives, how the negative thoughts come in and plague us at our different stages of spiritual practice . And how Chapter Two is all about us admitting to the Mother, that we cant do it , only She can. Only She can reclaim the power from the negative thoughts and give it to the Devas inside us, so that we can go back to being Gods and Goddesses in the Garden of Bliss. You can get the book at http://www.shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm
Guest guest
this is something to celebrate. the insights into the power of ego in the chandi path are extraordinary. all the wise have said, we need god[dess] on the 'other side' to pull us through. swamiji's words tend to be in exact conformity to these great insights ... the chandi path provides a depth in application that is not commonly available. BRAVO. i have not yet read the chapter 1 book, it is next on my list, then chapter 2. i look forward to it. steve c. , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > The in-depth "Study of Chapter Two" of the Chandi is now available at > our online bookstore. > > In this book , like its predecessor , Swamiji parses EACH verse of > chapter two ,down to the individual words and meanings. Guest guest
Could we cover Study of Chapter One in our forum here. I could type out each verse and Swamiji's expostion and we could reflect on each line as we go along . I often look into the sanskrit dictionary and try to gather the explanation of the words (sometimes I can't find them, may be I am not looking at the right place) in comparison to how Swamiji expose the inner meaning of the words so it would help a lot in my understanding as well I know we could do this in the online clases like we did for Durga Puja or listen to Swamiji's exposition in the website but somehow I feel a the mail discussion would be good mode of satsang as well. Steve , Latha , Parvathi and others what do you think ? Guest guest
i think it sounds good, it is pretty much up to latha and parvati, as they might feel they would need to do preparation to manage that ... btw i am looking into reading sanskrit online, and typing it ... i found this site, and satish also referred me to it ... i have installed the program and fonts, but i do not have my windows xp install disk so do not have access to the files required to set up international languages and regions control panel correctly for this ... someone else might find this useful though ... http://www.omkarananda-ashram.org/Sanskrit/itranslator2003.htm btw latha showed me how, if someone is using e-mail, the available fonts are very limited ,... but if you use outlook, like i do, then you have access to any font on the system ... so in theory, if person A had a particular sanskrit font, and e-m ailed to person B who had the same exact font and outlook, they could write to each other in sanskrit. steve , kanna krishnan <kanna_krishnan2002> wrote: > Namaskar to all brothers and sisters, > > Could we cover Study of Chapter One in our forum here.
