Guest guest
Dear All, As usual, the momentum in this group is awesome. I am hoping that Swamiji will come back to us on the Purascharana and give us tips on how to proceed. Thank you CHRIS for the terrific idea. BTW - Ardis - There is a Shivaratri once a month - it is MAHAshivaratri that is once a year. Also, Lynne was enthusiastic about getting a group together to learn a chapter of Chandi for a week or so and then move on to the next chapter and so on. I love both the ideas but would like for us to plan it out properly. I discovered the "Poll" facility in the home page of the group and I have started a poll to see how many of you would be interested in the two suggestions. I want to give it until Purnima ie 4th April for the results - that way we can plan for it in the meantime and get Swamiji's input and blessings by then. Can you please respond to the poll ? Even if you are not interested at this time - there is an option for you too. JAI MAA Latha

Guest guest
Cry M-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a !!!! Silently...... Inside your own heart. i am coming along thanks so much maureen! i am floating here in some obscure backwater karma, baby-sitting a library for one more hour ... it is so quuuuuiiiiiieeeeeet ... 'cept for the clickety-clackety ... here is a question ... if there was no capacity to say a mantra, or do a puja, what would be one action that a follower of the chandi path could take to resolve her mind to the goddess? steve , Maureen <mnielson@n...> wrote: > OH Steve, > Ha.....you must be feeling better. :-)) > > > > >that depends, Latha ... > > > >what do 90 Brahmins eat? > > > >steve > > > > > >, "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> > >wrote: > >> Dear All, > >> > >> As usual, the momentum in this group is awesome. I was told that if one is initiated into a mantra, one needs to do formal japa with achamana, sankalpa etc., once a day. At the same time one is also supposed to say the mantra mentally without movement of lips all day long whenever the mind is not engaged in activities which require concentration. As one progresses in japa, japa goes on as an undercurrent without any effort(like breathing). When one is travelling(hence no water, vessels etc) or physically not in a condition to do formal japa, one should always do mental (manasika) japa and puja. rgds
Guest guest
One should do as the initiating Guru instructs if one wants the results one seeks. I would imagine that varies from Guru to Guru. - Satish Arigela Monday, March 29, 2004 3:34 PM Re: Wanna feed 90 Brahmins ? , "bingo_ridley" <sconnor@a...> wrote:> here is a question ... if there was no capacity to say a mantra, or > do a puja, what would be one action that a follower of the chandi > path could take to resolve her mind to the goddess?
