Guest guest
After you've done your sankalpa of mantra japa, say 100,000 recitations to Devi; you offer back 10% of those mantras to Her in a homa. When performing the homa you offer the 1,000 mantras with ghee and etc. (different mixtures, depending on the deva/devi); the you offer 10% of the 1,000 with water to the fire while saying the mantra followed by the words 'tarpayami, swaha!' Then you offer 10% of those 100 mantras to the fire with flower petals while saying the mantra followed by the words madhyami, swaha!' Don't remember the WHY of these practices; except for the obvious result with the water; that it serves to cool down the fire signalling completion; and that the flower petals sometimes are synonymous with blessings and are tossed about upon the participants after the fire gets it's quota. dan , "Ganesha" <est_mios@s...> wrote: > Hello to all! > > What is tarpana and marjana ? > > Best wishes.
