On page 60, verses 13 and 14, the various weapons of the Goddesses

are related to concepts, i.e., bow of determination. My question

is -- does each weapon have a specific meaning that remains constant

in the Chandi? Can we know that each time we encounter a weapon, we

know the quality that it represents? TIA

Dear Karen,

You are right about the various weapons related to a specific

concept, ie. the bow of determination. These are the weapons we will

use in our own spiritual discipline to destroy the darkness, the

fear, and the thoughts that arise to keep us from realizing our

divine nature.

EX: The discus of revolving time gives us patience to see our

practice through. We have to be patient with ourselves in the pursuit

of realization.

We use the club of articulation to articulate the mantras, we

combat the asuras with vibrations of our mantras.

With the bow of determination we are going to take aim at our

goal, focus our attention on the goal and let the arrow fly. We have

the iron bar of restraint in order to restrain our senses and

restrain our thoughts. The pike of concentration means we have one

pointed attention. The conch shell holds all vibrations.

IN this way we use all of the weapons, like the Goddess, to help

protect us from all negativities.
