Namaste Friends,

I would like to know why does the kavacam ask Chandi in verse 36:

ahaMkAraM mano buddhiM rakShenme dharmadhAriNI

"May my ego, mind, and intellect be protected by She who Supports

the Way of Truth to wisdom."

Why do we ask Chandi to protect these and then chant entire chapters

devoted to "slaying" these very things within us?

Ego is slain in chapter 2 and mind-intellect is the source of

thoughts -- but we are worshipping Chandika -- She Who Tears Apart

All Thoughts. Why do we ask Maa to protect these in Her armor?

AUM
