Guest guest
I wanted to share another story from the satsanga last Sunday. Someone asked , "Maa, do you love some people more than others ?" Maa smiled and said , " I love everyone the same, but some people feel it more than the others. It is their capacity to receive which is more " And Maa continued , " You increase your capacity to receive through Sadhana " Always ... Always ... Sadhana ! There is no other way. Guest guest
Always...Sadhana! Great story, Latha! It got me to thinking about the Sadhana that I do, which seems like a lot to me yet I yearn for what Maa refers to as "capacity to receive." How to increase that? More of the same Sadhana? This makes me wonder if different types of sadhana might have different results? Are there small sadhanas that a person could add to the day? Do sadhanas need to be "big deals"? The more I wonder, the more I confuse myself (not hard to do!). Then I am back to having a tough time distinguishing between sadhana and tapasya. Tapasya kind of pinches. Does it have to? I am thinking of fasting, days of silence, etc. Does sadhana pinch? I think of puja and homa as sadhana, which mostly feel good, but can be a pinch. So, any comments would be helpful! How do you add more sadhana to what feels like a too-short day already? I wanted to share another story from the satsanga last Sunday.Someone asked , "Maa, do you love some people more than others ?" Guest guest
Hi Karen, Why not ask Swamiji directly instead of guessing? Tell him what you are already doing and ask him for suggestions. Guest guest
Dear Karen, I agree with Maureen. I would like to share some of my sentiments too. This is directly related to a question that I asked Swamiji last Sunday. "How do we increase our Sadhana ? Is it a conscious effort or does it happen as a result of our ongoing Sadhana ?" And Swamiji said "Both" We start off determinining our current situation and where we want to be. We start small , and add to the practices , increase the duration every month and make the concerted , determined effort to keep at our Sadhana. Then , like you are right now, we come to a point where we have questions, "how can I do better" , "what can I do better" etc etc. And the answers WILL come to you. The best person to give you direct advice is your external Guru/advisor . You will also get the inspiration from people walking the path with you. My humble suggestion would be - to set aside a predetermined amount of quality time every day at the same time. We would show up on time for our dates We would show up on time for our children's events - PTAs , games etc ... The same concept We show up on time for our dates with the most beloved of them all - our beloved ishta devatas. And YOU need to determine the amount of time that is within your ability and circumstances right now, and stick to it with sincerity. Then you WILL know what to do ... You will ask the right questions ... like you are doing You will seek the right help ... like you WILL get. JAI MAAAAA I was very happy to read your post and I too pray for an iron will and more capacity to love and understand. Guest guest
just a little jumping in if it is alright ... you can do sadhana in a second with some yearning for god, japa, or thinking of shree maa or the goddess in any form. love, s. , "Karen Borak" <karenborak@e...> wrote: > Always...Sadhana!
