Guest guest
Ok, here's a kid story. Yesterday I finished the Vishnu Sahasranam. It was glorious. My son, Will, who is 5, came into my room to hang out with me. I asked him if he wanted to sit at the altar and he did. We played the "guess who (which deity) I'm going to offer this flower to" game. He puts the flower to his heart and then on his nose (ajna chakra) and has me guessing. I'm ALWAYS wrong! We laugh at how I can't get this right! He likes to play with the Shiva Lingam : "Is he really inside here?!" Later, as I pulled into the car wash (yes I got stuck in mud) I said "We are all dirty, Will, need to get a wash" and he paused for a moment and said "No, Mommy, we're clean, it's just what's carrying us that's dirty!". I loved that! Last one: A few weeks ago I was driving around with same child and we were listening to the Shree Maa "OM" CD. As Shree Maa is Ommmming away I turned the rearview mirror to look at Will--no reason. He was looking out the window up to the sky and with furrowed brow, not taking his eyes from the sky, he said "Mommy, I don't WANT to do it all over again!" I knew what he meant--a question I had struggled with, myself, for a long while--the seeming futility of "starting over" with every lifetime. I comforted him and told him that Mommy would help him and he would have a good life and learn alot. What else to say? Much love, many blessings!
