Guest guest
Hi List, Well.....yes, I started the Mrutyunjaya mantra this morning (8amEST)...but what's up..are we moving on from Narvarna Vidhi or what? I've been doing what we've been learning so far every day, breaking it into two sections....for me, it's good because I am getting clearer in my pronounciation...some of the sections are actually becoming "easy" and I am able to chant quickly..which I enjoy. I do the 32 names and Kavach, Ratri Suktam and Siddha Kunjika (I know we haven't gotten there yet) in the am and the Narvarna vidhi and my japa practice in the evening. It seems to be working very well. Still, I wonder what we are supposed to be working on starting today? Did I miss something??? sadhvi
Guest guest
Sadhvi, we started Chapter 1 yesterday, Sunday. Did you know that Latha has a Chandi Lesson Study Timetable in the Database so that we can check? I just found it. What a wonder that girl is! She doesn't miss a beat. Guest guest
Dear Karen, Thanks! I discovered it this morning....Latha, you are amazing! thank you for all of your great seva.....and Yogalynne..thanks for the beautiful translation of mahamrtyunjaya mantra...much better than the one I had...the cucumber was always a bit of a stumbling block...but in your translation, it makes a perfect (and inevitable) sense. My kitty, Sita, (but not Rama, he's too wild to come into the puja room) is totally enjoying our group efforts. She arrives first thing for her morning blessings and stays around whenever I am working on my Chandi Path...she especially likes the Navarna mantra, as chanted by Maa, so she must be some kind of incarnated monk. It's really funny how much cats love Sanskrit! I am remembering the thread in our group a couple of weeks ago about bringing more sadhana into our lives....seems like that's happening so gracefully here. Latha and Parvati S., you are both doing such a wonderful job of support...thank you. best, sadhvi
Guest guest
Not only cats! I have a little chihuahua who totally blisses out when I chant. My last dog left the room when I did puja. This one loves being in the room for puja and japa. I have had dogs in the past who also wanted to be present. In Tibetan Buddhism, the rimpoches believe that the dogs that gravitate to the temples are former monks who made mistakes and want to get back on the path.
