Guest guest
wonderful, Inspiring, Beautiful Sangha, I have written below what I think is a beautiful translation of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra taken from Yoga International, May 2004. I don't really think the translation is importatant to the effect of the mantra and this mantra flowed through me for years before I had a clue what the translation might be. sometimes the translation can be a distraction becaue the english words hold their own "charge" for us, too. I offer it (the translation) because it moved me and made me feel Shiva right next to me, in me and all around. I hope you enjoy it, too. The Seer is Markandeya: OM. We worship and adore you, O three-eye one, O Shiva. You are sweet gladness, the fragrance of life, who nourishes us, restores our health, and causes us to thrive. As, in due time, the stem of the cucumber weakens, and the gourd is freed from the vine, so free us from attachment and death, and do not withhold immortality.
