Last Saturday at the Mandir , we had the privilege of watching

Swamiji do the Arati. As usual it was very special and Maa beating

the drums, She had us all keep rhythm by clapping our hands ...

Swamiji was in his own world ...

I had this urge to get up and dance , but after a tiring week and a

2 hr drive .. I was content to sit and clap in rhythm ...

And then this voice in my head ... I have these internal dialogues

going on most of the time . I call it introspection ... some people

call it Asuras ...but they are Thoughts.

Voice :- "Get up and dance"

Latha :- "Um ... too tired"

Voice :- "Get up and dance"

Latha :- "Feel like a fool. Everybody is clapping so I'll clap too "

Voice :- "Get up and dance"

Latha :- "Nope"

Voice shook its head (?) sadly and left .

And then Arati was over . After the meditation , Maa started to sing

some bhajans ...for Saraswati as it was Panchami.

"Vaak vaadhini Saraswati NAMOOOO NAMAH "

It started again

Voice :- "Get up and dance"

Latha :- "Oh Please go away"

Voice :- "Get up and dance"

Latha :- "Weeeel .... The music IS good"

Voice :- "Get up and dance"

Latha :- "Oh All right"

And I got up and swayed. It was wonderful and I had an energetic

workout.

so were a few others I noticed later on ...

At the end of the bhajans ... Maa said "You all clapped so hard ....

I think the Ego must have left now "

I dont know about that dear Maa, but I certainly lost a few

calories ... and made that Voice very happy .

That is very sweet. Sometimes it is difficult to know which voices to

listen to. What a treat to see Swamiji do arati. Wonderful. And I

love Maa's remark about the clapping making the ego leave. I know

the feeling.
