Guest guest
.... the gods do not trivialize themselves? we will not trivialize our selves. our examples can be an inspiration, but due to dual nature of mind, they can also defeat us. we will never be so great. do not do this. or if there is despair USE IT to cry out to the mother. MOTHER!!!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!!!! MAKE ME STRONG!!!! HELP ME DEFEAT THOMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also our assessment of our journey. this is never correct. why? mind is relative yet our destination is absolute. relative mind cannot gauge our progress. all we can do is, move into the infinite. this paradoxical nature of the spiritual path should not be missed. we can think "i am steve the regular guy" or "i am not so great. she is great, but i am weak." that is ok, but not as any kind of final definition. the assessments mind makes, they are temporary. so you think you are defeated by thomas today, but tomorrow, we can't see thomas anywhere. all this will PASS because of our passion for the real. GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have been given the sadhana. it is for YOU, not the other way around. LOVE THE GOD WITHIN YOURSELF.

Guest guest
ardis, i love the way multiple levels of meaning can spontaneously arise out of what appears at first to be a misunderstanding. this happens when people are empathic, doesn't it. :-) steve , Ardis Jackson <anandamama@e...> wrote: > I thought you meant Thomas, the disciple of Jesus, who was known as Doubting > Thomas. > > "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> > > Sat, 01 May 2004 05:22:29 -0000 > > Re: have you ever noticed ... > > > i meant that as a joke, thomas, he is tamas, the lowliest of the 3 > beleaguered gunas ... yes, i know, i'll keep my day job, hoho ... > > steve > > > ===== > > Steve, > What do you have against poor Thomas ? Guest guest
Doubting Thomas was a close blood realtative of Jesus. He was a first cousin if I am not mistaken, but he could have been a half brother through Joseph's first marriage. Thomas traveled to Kerala and later to Tamil Nadu. He died there and the place is now called Saint Thomas Hill. A documentary on this was broadcast on PBS some years back. , Ardis Jackson <anandamama@e...> wrote: > I thought you meant Thomas, the disciple of Jesus, who was known as Doubting > Thomas. Guest guest
haha ok chris i will. next up: Roger, the 2nd Guna. He is very emotional. Always up and down. Goes by his feelings ... a lot. Well, that's Roger for you. Rogers are considered superior to Thomases but not as desirable as Siegfrieds, the calm and cool type. ok i'll stop! steve , "Chris Kirner" <chriskirner1956> wrote: > That's very funny, Ardis. > > I was with Latha. Guest guest
Some scholars believe that Thomas, the Twin, was Jesus' twin brother. And I always like the fact that doubt or not, Jesus came and gave Thomas exactly what he personally needed....to touch the wounds. May all my doubts draw that kind of response from the Lord. Doubting Thomas was a close blood realtative of Jesus. He was a first cousin if I am not mistaken, but he could have been a half brother through Joseph's first marriage.
