Guest guest
Is it permissible or advisable to perform a homa immediately before- during-or after an eclipse. There is a lunar ecliple tomorrow, 4 May and I'd like to know as this is also the full moon, and I'd like to do a navagraha homa. There is a total lunar eclipse tomorrow even though it will only be seen in Western Asian and Africa. The moon goes full only about four minutes after the peak of the eclipse. Times For Fairfield (almost the same as Iowa City.) Start of lunar eclipse 2:40pm Time of total eclipse 3:12-3:49pm Peak of eclipse 3:31pm Ends 4:22pm The eclipse starts about 16 minutes after the moon enters the lunar mansion Vishakha. Guest guest
Jai Ma! Namaste! To me has carried, that in my city was a night and I could see this fine instant. It was very beautiful . All has calmed down, it seemed to me, that all has stood these minutes. The moon all over again darkened and it seemed that, something comes nearer, then her color became similar to light orange color and there was a feeling, that the moon reflects light which looked as gold, as if shadow Gauri has fallen on the moon, then, the moon began to accept the usual kind again. It was delightful. At this moment, there was a feeling, that for this short time, has passed all lunar cycle. I during this moment, wash mala and ran sometimes to a window to look at the moon, during that moment when the moon completely get out I have lowered Rudrakshamala in milk. I do not have not enough words all to describe. But I had feeling, that bathing Rudrakshamala in milk, I am in stream of Shakti. It was very surprising and beautiful moment. May Ma bless all of us! Guest guest
That sounds so beautiful and profound. I saw a complete eclipse of the sun in Southern Mexico in 1970. It was also a very profound experience. As the moon moved over the sun and it started getting darker in the middle of the day, all the animals and birds became quiet. There were little crescent shadows all over the ground. When the moon totally eclipsed the sun, it was all darkness except for the bright eruptions of the sun around the perimeter of the moon. Then there was a subtle rainbow halo around the moon/sun. That rainbow seemed to me to be the white that contains all colors. It is hard to describe but it was incredibly beautiful, like a divine aura. Madan Mohan <jadu_s2002 > Tue, 4 May 2004 13:59:46 -0700 (PDT) Re: homa during eclipse Jai Ma! Namaste! Guest guest
Madan Mohan, Very beautiful. Isn't it wonderful how intimately connected we are to everything, and how much love there is for us if we are able to receive it?
