Guest guest
I quite like your recipe for asan. I've been doing 70 malas in padmasan. I already can sit in swastik asan for 4 hours on my deerskin. Who knows, one day I might be able to do the same in padma. Maybe I should increase to 100 malas in padma just to charge up my deerskin. , "devnath9" <devnath@s...> wrote: > >Would you recommend this pose for Chandi Path recitation ? > > baddha konasana is good for building the asan > > for recitation, sit in the asan in which you can you can sit most upright -- swastik, padma > asan, or something other -- ideal is on the floor/ground with no back or butt support, just > a simple wool blanket or kusha grass or something, and then gradually increase the asan > by adding a little bit of time in it each month > > it is really important to develop the asan > > start with a few minutes a day, or a mala, and then add 5 minutes a month and in a year > you are at 1 hour > > >Is it > >basic buidling block for our prolonged asana in the future > > yes, most definately -- my experience with asanas has been that baddha konasana is the > one for this > > >or is it > >a final pose for the 2 hours recitation ? > > swastik or padma asan > > > >I often see Swamiji ( I might be wrong ) in siddha pose in during > >pujas and homas . Guest guest
Devnath, It might be good to clear up what I perceive to be potential for misunderstanding between swastikasana and siddhasana. As I understand, Swamiji uses the name swastikasana for the position in which the heel is placed firmly against the perineum, correct? In most common usage, so far as I am familiar, this is the siddhasana. Swastikasana is more generally known to be the pose in which the feet are placed against the opposite thigh. I am aware that these names are likely juxtaposed amongst various sources, but it is good to be clear in this situation.
