Guest guest
Namaste Saswati, A fortnight refers to 15 days of the lunar cycle. From day 1 to day 15 the moon is getting bigger and bigger until it is full on day 15. This is the shukla paksha or bright fortnight. From the full moon the moon gets smaller and smaller until it reaches no moon or the new moon. This is also a 15 day cycle. It is called the Krishna paksha or dark fortnight. According to the offerings listed from t he Devi Bhagavatam there are 3 possible offerings to be made. 1. Each day of the fortnight there is a special offering.(day 1 - day 15 of the bright fortnight and t hen again day 1-day 15 of the dark fortnight.) 2. Each month there is a special offering to be made each day of the month. 3. Each day of the week there is a special offering to be made. First y ou have to look at the lunar calendar as described by Latha to figure our what day of the lunar cycle it is. Then you can determine what is the offering for that lunar day unless you choose to make the offering for each day of the week. It is nice to learn about the lunar cycle. Hope this clarifies a little. Let me know if you have more questions. Parvati
