Guest guest
When you are drilling for water, all you need is to dig really deep in one spot . What you are doing is to start digging and then jumping to the next spot without giving it all you have got in that one spot . The goal is the water , so pick a spot and stick with it " Dear Latha, I have contemplated this story for many years. I've heard it from many people: great, pure souls and charlatans alike. I think, after all, that this advice is true...and that one needs to practice discrimination very carefully and a great deal of self-examination in order to understand what this metaphor really means in one's own life. Lately, I have begun to think that we all carry the perfect "spot" within us for the drilling and that whatever tools we need WILL be provided, as long as we keep our focus on what is True. The perfect spot is our own inner Self not anything outside of ourselves...what is outside of our Inner Self can be a tool, a way, a direction, either helpful or confusing. I think that once we focus on our own Inner Self as the "spot" that everything necessary flows into our life. At least, this is my experience of the "perfect spot for drilling" at this point. best regards, sadhvi

Guest guest
As with many spiritual truths, the story or metaphor has many meanings on many levels and is applicable to all of them. - nityashakti Tuesday, May 25, 2004 1:32 PM Re: practices enchancing the Spirit When you are drilling for water, all you need is todig really deep in one spot .
