Guest guest
I posted a few days ago on how I got to chant the Rudri with Swamiji one Sunday. Swamiji chanted and I was very conscious throughtout the chanting - that I dont go off in my own pace , but stay with him and with his rhythm at all times When we had completed chanting, He was beaming and looked around at us. We were feeling so much in sync. He said that he was in Bhav Samadhi... Immediately, my wild tongue quipped "Do you mean the attitude or the Businessman ?" (of the Chandi) Swamiji retorted "Both" and moved onto talk of something else. And that moment passed .... I looked into the meaning of Bhava samadhi , and here is what Swamiji has to say , page 59 in "The Guru and the Goddess" available online at http://www.shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm " In bhava Samadhi - 3 things exists - subject I , object you, and relationship - example "I am your devotee" Bhava samadhi is of two types - Salokya - means we are in the same paradigm of reality. The second is samipya - performing the same karma. Just as you are doing , so I am also doing. I see you sitting there doing pranayama, breathing love into the entire universe, and I doing pranayama and japa, breathing love to the universe. You and I are one in the performance of the same activity. " I guess, Swamiji was in samipya that day... but I'll never know. Jai Maa ! Guest guest
Latha, That passage you quoted yesterday from the Kashyapa Sutra commentary was, in my opinion, a description of the cultivation of bhava samadhi.
