Guest guest
Namaste all, Swamiji describes soma as the nectar of pure devotion. The pressing of soma is the pressing of devotion. When we squeeze the devotion and push it out until the last drop of juice presses out. This is the nectar of devotion. This is the offering, the last drop of the nectar of devotion. The first ones are easy. But the last one we press out is the one she wants most. This is soma. This reminds me of the story of the guru and the disciple who said he really wanted to see God and so they went to the river. The disciple dunked under the water 3 times and on the 3rd time the guru held the disciples head under the water. After a few minutes the disciple started to gasp for air. The guru pulled him up and said, "How did you feel?" the disciple said, " I thought I was going to die." That is how badly we need to feel to see god. In the same way Sri Ramakrishna yearned for the darshan of Mother Kali and he got Her.
