Guest guest
Dear Latha and List, When I first wrote to Maa, after leaving my former teacher, she said to me, "Define your goals. be clear about what you want and then pursue it without fail". I had thought that I already "knew" what my goal was: "liberation" but, when I thought deeply about it, honoring Maa's direction to me, I realized that "liberation" was simply a concept to me, not a reality. I did alot of thinking, contemplation and meditating about what my goal was. It took me quite a while to be clear about it, I had so much "stuff" in my mind about what it "should" be from my previous path. What it came down to for me was this. There have been many times during my life when I have experienced, for a moment or even an hour, being in a state of "non-separation". There is a sense of being transparent and, at the same time, being more fully present than you have ever been before. There is no division between "you" and what is around you: people or rocks or water or birds or trees or whatever is there. There is an profound peacefulness, alertness, joyfulness and openness. It is truly "being in the moment" and it is like nothing else I have ever experienced. My goal is to learn how to live my life in this state...all the time. So I try to do things that increase the possiblity of that happening: chanting and studying and being in nature and learning from others in satsang and I look to Devi and to my own Mula Guru and to those who are kind enough to help me for support and advice.
