Guest guest
"I have always been emotionally sensitive. This yearning threatens to carry me into an abyss from which there is no return. It is a seesaw of raw bleeding emotion, of exhultation and despair. It is so hard to yearn so for God, for freedom. Chris" Dear Chris, I have thought about this for many many years. From the time I was a little child (and "admonished" for being "too sensitive")I have looked at the world and been almost split apart by what I later began to call..."the unbearable beauty and poignancy of embodiment". Sitting by the Indian River in Florida early in the morning and watching the pelicans drift by on their way to feed upriver...each one an "individual incarnation" and knowing, at the same time, that 10 years from now I would see a pelican drifting by...but it would not be this same "individual", it would be the same "species" but not the same being. Sometimes the beauty of the world, in its timelessness and "temporariness" is beyond bearing. Lately, though, I have begun to understand, in a small way, that each incarnated being (every sentient being and there is really nothing that is NOT sentient on a cellular level) IS a manifestation of the Divine...a form of Devi...so what is this longing? What is this suffering? What is this separation? What is pulsing out from within each plant and each pelican and each human being is that Divine consciousness, wrapped around with "individuality"...it's just as the Siddha Kunjika Stotram sings, "Jvala Ham Sam Lam Ksam Phat Svaha" And ths Illumination is the Divine "I" in all manifested beings to the end of existence without a doubt. I am One with GOD!" And, until that final merging takes place, all we can do is look to the example of Swamiji and Maa....chant with the bliss of this understanding!!! I take alot of comfort in Maa's advice...to think of myself as a child of God. I salute you, Chris, and everyone who is pulled towards being awake ! with great love to you, sadhvi
