namaste all.

i have not heard of this from swamiji and all, but creative

consciousness whispered this in my ear and said it's alright. you

all can be the judge.

we are most often plagued by our own demons above all else. [no

surprise, huh.] anyway, i used to be plagued by anger and irritation

which expressed as sarcasm. and if circumstances arise [like moving

box by box 3,000 sq foot of junk into a 1,500 sq house] this demon

raises its head again [in a more subdued form thank discipline and

god.]

which goes to show how battling the asuras is one thing, but

bringing their heads to the goddess is another. ahem!

so here is the reverse sankalpa. latha or someone better than me

could give you the right words if they think it is a good idea.

I WILL NOT ... [xyz] ... in my case, BE ANGRY.

you can give it a time frame ... 20 minutes ... a day ... a week ...

etc.

for you, it might be ... not be afraid ... not be anxious ... not be

whatever is separating you from the divine unity. HUM! SVAAHAA

GLORIOUS ONES!

people who are intellectual or psychologically oriented will not

like that as it appears too absolute or even repressive. i can

assure you it is not. it is deploying one's greater sense of purpose

for ahimsa [restraining from harmful action.]

of course, you have to know your faults first, and be troubled

enough by them to want to get rid of them ... in other words, you

will be intersecting them at that point before rationalization and

its army of thoughts.

jai maa to you all. thank you shree maa and swamiji and latha for

bringing us all together here.

anybody think this is a good or bad idea, or does it provoke other

thoughts/observations?

Wonderful sentiment Steve.

I have an additional suggestion.

When you find a part of yourself that you don't want to be a part of

yourself anymore, offer it to Durga, Kali, or Chandi Maa. It goes perfectly

in the ETE GANDE PUSHPE slot. Instead of offering scented flowers you are

offering reeking non-goddess like qualities. Maa loves that, why do you

think some of her forms wear a garland of skulls, and others a beheaded

ego? She loves when we offer up those things to beautify her. In fact Maa

loves us offering up non-goddess like qualities so much that even desiring

to give them up gets us boons. We may not actually be willing to give them

up, but desiring to give them up with all our hearts is the first step of

building a bridge for consciousness to cross and once in a while it will

cause her to leap over to us to show us what she's all about. That boon

makes things much easier, because we recognize how unimportant most of what

goes on really is.

The war that exists between goddess and the army of thoughts is for our

benefit only. In reality there is no battle, its merely a change of

awareness, of moving beyond thought and as Swamiji put it so very

perfectly, into the realm of the intuitive. Its only a battle for the

thoughts. For Maa, its tea time with biscuits. Thoughts are no match for

her. Desires are no match for her. Fear and the other emotions are no match

for her. The ego is smaller than nothing before her.

To summarize: when you see something in yourself that you want to go away.

REALIZE that you are incapable of making it go away. The mind and the ego

are powerless to control the unhealthy and unproductive thoughts. It is

ONLY MOTHER who can take care of them.

When you see something that hurts you and those around you coming from

within you. Stop, see it for what it is, and cry to mother: MEW MEW MEW!

Please mother! TAKE THESE THINGS AWAY! FOR I AM NOT CAPABLE of ridding

myself of these things. Only you mother can give me refuge from the pain

and the pleasure.

There is no thought process or understanding in all of creation that can do

these things for you. Only Maa can liberate you.

MEW MEW MEW!

yes that is great brian -- 'take this mother take this away please,

i don't want this, it is giving my family pain, and myself, oh

mother, take this flower, please.' very, very nice. your comments

make it real, what the garland of skulls is about.
